چکیده

This study aims to compare the differences in sampling satisfaction rates between 5 mL syringe and 22G percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC) needles fine-needle aspiration (FNA) provide economical reasonable needle selection. From January 2021 March 2022, 187 patients with thyroid nodules (a total of 200 nodules) who underwent ultrasound-guided FNA were punctured using PTC once for each nodule, sample was sent pathological examination. The rate two methods statistically analyzed, factors affecting determined. Results demonstrated that overall syringes 83% 85% ( P >0.05), respectively. specimens 92.6% 91.1% P> 0.05) among 136 poor blood supply. For 64 rich supply, both significantly lower than nodule supply <0.05), latter (62.5% vs. 71.8%, <0.05). results suggest satisfactory can be obtained either a or needles. is more likely yield if

Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology versus Fine Needle Capillary Sampling in Cytological Diagnosis of Thyroid Lesions

Background and Objectives: Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is an established out- patient procedure used in primary diagnosis of palpable thyroid lesions. A modified technique fine needle capillary sampling (FNCS) obviates the need of suction, is less painful, patient friendly and reported to overcome the problem of inadequate and bloody specimens. The aim of our study was to compare the...

Combination of aspiration and non-aspiration fine needle biopsy for cytological diagnosis of thyroid nodules

Background: Good cytological sample is very important for the cytological diagnosis of thyroid nodules. The aim of this study was to evaluate the adequacy of prepared samples by the combination of aspiration and non- aspiration fine needle biopsy. Methods: In this descriptive – analytical study, sampling was done simultaneously for each patient in fine needle aspiration and non-aspiration biops...

Comparison of Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology and Thyroid Scan in Solitary Thyroid Nodule

Objective. This was a comparative study between FNAC and thyroid scan used to diagnose the solitary thyroid nodule and histopathology was used as gold standard to compare the results of both modalities. We hypothesized that Fine needle aspiration cytology and thyroid scan diagnose solitary thyroid nodule (STN) as accurately as histopathology. Materials and Methods. This study comprised of 50 pa...

Assessing RET/PTC in thyroid nodule fine-needle aspirates: the FISH point of view.

RET/PTC rearrangement and BRAF(V600E) mutation are the two prevalent molecular alterations associated with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), and their identification is increasingly being used as an adjunct to cytology in diagnosing PTC. However, there are caveats associated with the use of the molecular approach in fine-needle aspiration (FNA), particularly for RET/PTC, that should be taken i...

Evaluation of results of fine needle aspiration and pathology of thyroid nodules in thyroidectomy Patients

Introduction: The most common manifestation of thyroid malignancy is thyroid nodule. In few studies, pathologic findings of malignancy were seen in patients who were undergone thyroidectomy because of causes other than malignancy. The aim of this study was the evaluation of the rate of malignancy in patients who undergone thyroidectomy. Methods: In this retrospective multi central study, ...
